TMA 3 Q1 ~ How the Internet can provide a business advantage to Waltonsoft.com its suppliers and customers

We were given background information about a company called Waltonsoft.com who wanted to look at allowing their customers and suppliers access to their network via the Internet. We were required to write a report of between 500-600 words on the business advantages of such a move and any concerns we felt needed raising.

Introduction from my submitted report.

Local Area Networks provide easier and more efficient communication between departments and allow computers to share hardware, software and data. By expanding the network to include the Internet Waltonsoft.com can also benefit from improved relations with both suppliers and customers, speed up development of products and delivery to the customer, make various financial savings and consequently gain a competitive edge in their industry.
