TMA 2 ~ Design a Speech Recognition Program for a Microwave Oven

We were provided with software that enabled us to write simulated speech recognition programs. We were asked to write a program for use within a microwave oven. I loved this module but I know plenty of people that hated it. The speech recognition could, at times, be extremely unstable but on the whole I thought it was great fun, you could even teach Baldi (the 'person' in the simulator) to say rude words ;o)

We were required to draw a Flowchart to reflect our design, this is a small extract.

We needed to break our application down into modules so that we could then design, test and build it piecemeal. I chose to use the following breakdown.

After using the software provided we needed to take a screen shot of our finished design and submit it as part of our TMA. Again here is a small extract of mine.

Finally we had to write a short report between 500-800 words reviewing the suitability, strength/weaknesses of our speech interface and strength/weaknesses of the process we went through in designing the interface.
