TMA 1 ~ Technical suitability of Internet enabled devices for Speedicarry's
Drivers.
We were given background about a company called Speedicarry who wanted to look at Internet-enabled mobile devices for use by their drivers. They wanted them to be able to access the company's Intranet site whilst on the move. The report was to be between 950 and 1050 words and dealt with the technical issues only of WAP with GSM, GPRS and UMTS. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Introduction from my submitted report. This section of the report is looking at technical suitability of Internet enabled devices, so that Speedicarry's drivers can directly access information from the Company Intranet and log details of their progress. I will be looking at the networks WAP with GSM, GPRS and UMTS referred to as 2nd, 2.5 and 3rd Generation respectively. They are based on digital technology and are Internet enabled but the services they use and access and the speed at which they can download information varies.
